Symptom

Diagnostics recorder does not start

Possible causes

Recorder state or insufficient free storage can prevent starting.

Check in this order

  1. Check that the recorder is not already recording/stopping.
  2. Check at least 128 MiB free storage.
  3. Read the current status/error instead of treating a button tap as successful capture.

Safe corrective action

Resolve the state/space issue and choose Start recording deliberately.

Verify recovery

The recorder reports Recording. No upload or Session-rate change should occur.
